Respondeat Superior
Respondeat Superior
(Let The Master Answer)
While recently attending a leadership/liability class, the Latin phrase Respondeat Superior was mentioned. Latin, for Let The Master Answer.
It was briefly explained that this concept was based off of the Apprentice > Journeyman > Master hierarchy of a skilled trade.
How, you are wondering, does this have anything to do with dogs? Well, while I am probably too humble to ever consider myself a Master, I more lean towards considering myself a forever Journeyman, always seeking to improve. The term Master is often attached to a dog owner.
Dog > Handler (Master)
If we as humans, handlers, Journeyman or those that are Masters should consider this Latin Phrase, Respondeat Superior, seriously.
You are responsible for your dog!
