WE AREN'T GIVEN A CHOICE

When it happens, we're not given a choice. When it happens, we can't choose to be ready for it. When it happens, the time to choose is gone. When it happens, we don't choose where. When it happens, we aren't given a choice of who is involved.

The only choice we have is to have been prepared. Choose to train. Choose to be challenged. Choose the hard work. Choose the uncomfortable training. Choose time under stress. Choose to be challenged.

When the choice is necessary, there is no choice. The work has already been done. You already chose it.

Why We Train for the Worst Days

When it happens, we aren’t given a choice. The crisis doesn’t ask if you’re ready, and the clock doesn't pause for you to find your footing. When the pressure hits, the time to decide has already passed. You don't choose the location, and you certainly don't choose who is standing there with you.

In those moments, you don't rise to the occasion—you sink to the level of your training.

The Only Choice That Matters

The only real power you have is the work you did when no one was watching. You must choose to train long before the fight begins.

Choose the Hard Work: Seek out the reps that make you want to quit.

Choose the Uncomfortable: If you only train when you feel good, you'll fail when you feel bad.

Choose Time Under Stress: Harden your mind so that chaos feels like home.

When the choice becomes a necessity, there is no choice left to make. The work is done. You already chose your outcome.
